Think of a Daily Money Manager as Your Personal Trainer
As your daily money manager, our job covers a lot of territory and many people often wonder what exactly it is we do and how we can help them. We think one of the best comparisons is to think of us as sort of like your personal fitness trainer. In fact, in many ways, that’s exactly what we do: We train you to better manage your money, just like a fitness trainer works on your ability to manage your health.
When you visit a personal trainer for the first time, they’ll measure various health markers to get a feel for your current status. Then they’ll ask you about some of your goals. With this information in mind, they can begin designing a program to help you meet those goals as soon as possible.
The same thing goes for meeting with us. We want to know where you currently stand financially. To do that, we may also ask you about some of your financial habits: how you spend, how you save, how much you make, etc. Then we’ll talk about your goals and then come up with a plan to get you there.
But that’s not all a trainer does. That part didn’t even involve training. The training part comes along the way as we work toward your goals. A personal trainer would bring you into the gym, show you the right exercises, proper form and then encourage you to do them.
We do the same. Our job is to show you what practices will result in the results you want and how to go about exercising them regularly. Then we monitor your performance along the way and provide you with the encouragement you need.
