Course Instructor

Representing Baker DMM, Chris teaches an elder care financial caregiving course as well as assists with the National Aging in Place Council’s “Where you do want to be at 103?” class, both a part of the Emory University Olli program.

Emory University Olli Program, Financial Fraud, and Elder Exploitation: What is the key to prevention? – As the population ages, losses as a result of financial fraud and elder abuse are increasing. The goal of this series is to raise awareness of this important, yet underreported issue. Discussion topics include: Vital statistics provided by the federal government to let seniors and their families know the severity of the problem; an overview of what financial fraud looks like including how to identify indicators of fraud and where to report it; and how financial monitoring is essential to help prevent elder financial abuse and exploitation. Guest speakers are experts in Elder Law, Insurance (Personal/Medicare), Home/daycare, Government (District Attorney’s Office), and Counseling / Social Work share their unique perspectives and experiences with financial fraud. Course run for one, three or six days.

Emory University Olli Program, National Aging In Place Council, Where do you want to be at 103? –  You have choices about how you live your future years. Learn how to create a plan now that supports the lifestyle you’re accustomed to living. Topics will include: Home, Healthcare, Personal Finance, Transportation, Community Activity, and many more topics related to long term planning. The Greater Atlanta Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) will empower you with education and resources so you can successfully remain at home where you feel safe and most comfortable.
